1. Free service

If you buy with partial payments, you get a free service from Joule after 3 months. You'll also get advice on how to take care of your electric bike, and an offer if you would like services at Joule in the future.

2. Conditions for complaints

  • Speed and motor power: Your electric bicycle is designed in accordance with Norwegian regulations, with a maximum speed of 25 km/h and a motor power of 250 W. Remember that any modifications lead to the termination of your warranty and right to claim.
  • In the event of a failure: In the event of a failure, you must visit an authorized workshop. Do not change parts yourself, even if you can get hold of this. An authorized workshop has access to original parts. Send us an e-mail, if you would like to book an appointment with the Joule workshop: hei@joule.no.
  • Service: The service interval is at least once per year or every 2,000 km. If the e-bike is used during the winter period, it should have one additional serivice each year. Remember to comply with the service interval, if lack of service is the cause of a failure, the warranty does not apply.
  • Charging: Never use a non-original charger or battery.
  • Charging at temperatures below 5 degrees celsius: If the battery has been exposed to low temperatures, allow the battery to warm up to room temperature before charging. At freezing temperatures, the electrolyte in the battery will solidify and eventually freeze. Charging when the electrolyte has solidified can cause damage to the battery that is not covered by the warranty.
  • Storage: If you store the battery over time, the battery should be stored with a minimum of 40% and maximum of 60% capacity. The battery should never be stored with 100% capacity.
Other recommendations to extend the life of the electric bicycle:
  • When storing: Remember to check the battery every month, it will discharge a little over time. Therefore, it is a good idea to charge when you see that there is only 1 diode left that lights up when you check the battery. Charge to 60% (3 out of 5 diodes).
  • Washing: Keep the bike clean and avoid using high-pressure directly on electrical components and engine. We recommend regular hand washing and rinsing with low pressure.
  • Chain and cassette: Extend the use of chain and cassette with regular cleaning and lubrication with oil. The wear and tear on these components is up to three times higher on an electric bicycle compared to a traditional bicycle.

3. Safety instructions:

Your safety is important to us! Here are some guidelines regarding battery safety:

  • Do not start charging the battery if it has visible damage.
  • Stop the charging process immediately if you experience a strange smell or smoke.
  • Regularly supervise the battery while it is charging and do not charge the battery while sleeping.
  • Avoid knocking or impacting the battery, such as dropping it on the ground.
  • Do not expose the battery to the sun while it is charging.
  • Do not cover the battery and charger, or place objects on top of them that could contribute to heat generation.
  • Avoid the battery and charger coming into direct contact with water and open flames.
  • Keep the battery and charger out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use the battery and charger for other purposes.
  • In the unlikely event that the battery catches fire, do not attempt to extinguish the fire with water. Evacuate the premises and contact emergency services immediately.
